A TAN is a combination of alpha and numeric digits such that a portion of numeric digits have fixed length and the other portion may have variable length of numeric fields. Each of the TAN code prefixes is linked to an entry in the TAN Hierarchy. The TAN prefix is generated automatically by the system and is read only. The format of a TAN is as follows:
In the above example AAAXYYYYY
Where A = Fixed (to TAN hierarchy, level 3) Alpha, fixed length of 3 characters.
Where X = Fixed (to TAN hierarchy, level 3) Numeric, fixed length of 1 character.
Where Y = Random Numeric, maximum of 10 characters and minimum of 5 characters in length, configurable by department.
For example a sample TAN code should look like the following:
DPW14562456
Where DPW = Fixed (to TAN hierarchy)
Where 1 = Numeric Fixed (to TAN hierarchy)
Where 4562456 = Random Numeric (Max 10 Characters and Min 5 characters).
