The below table defines the roles and responsibilities that can be optionally associated with a user of the TAN system. Access to the TAN system will be through the STS portal. Access to data and features within the TAN system to be configured within the TAN system as follows:

System Administrator |
A System Administrator will have full access to the application. The main responsibility of the system administrator is to perform user administration. |
STS TAN Administrator |
An STS TAN Administrator is responsible for administration of the TAN hierarchy. In addition, this role can view the TAN audit history, request and download bulk TAN extracts and has full data visibility of all departments, level 2 and 3 TAN prefixes. |
Agency User |
An Agency User can access an agency screen to verify a TAN and issue emergency TANs. An agency user can issue TANs on a per-department basis. An agency user can be associated with zero, one or more departments. |
Department TAN Administrator |
The Department TAN Administrator role is responsible for administration of the TAN hierarchy. This role can view the TAN audit history, request and download bulk TAN extracts, access the agency screens and has data visibility limited to the department assigned by an STS TAN Administrator. |
TAN Holder |
A TAN holder can access the TAN system to request and download a TAN register and has a data visibility of level 3 TAN prefixes. A TAN holder’s visibility will be restricted to view their own level 3 TANs only. |
Emergency TAN Issuer |
An Emergency TAN issuer has access to the TAN system to issue emergency TANs and has data visibility limited to the department assigned by an STS TAN Administrator. |
Emergency TAN Traveller |
A traveller with an Emergency TAN traveller role can be issued with an emergency TAN. This role has no access or visibility of data within the TAN system and is used by the Emergency TAN Issuer role to determine which travellers can be issued with an Emergency TAN. |
User Management |
The User management role is responsible for administering users. This role will be responsible for maintaining and assigning roles to users of the TAN system. |
