Adding a level 2 TAN prefix

  1. If you have just added a department, go to step 2. Otherwise, search for and select the department that you wish to add the level 2 TAN prefix to (see here for more information).
  2. Click Add Level 2 TAN prefix.
  3. If you decide that you want to change the department that the level 2 TAN prefix is assigned to, select a new one from the Change department dropdown menu.
  4. Type the name of the level 2 TAN prefix in English, and then in French in the relevant fields.
  5. Enter start and end dates for the level 2 TAN prefix. The start date is the date that it becomes active and the end date is the date that it expires.

Tip: You can choose the Start and End dates at the same time by clicking and dragging on the Start date calendar.

  6. If possible, enter the old department level 2 TAN prefix.
  7. The TAN level 2 prefix will be automatically generated and appear in the TAN level 2 field.
  8. The Account active box can only be changed by an STS TAN Administrator and TANs cannot be issued until the box is checked.
  9. If needed, type or paste any notes into the Note field.
  10. Click Save changes. You have now created a level 2 TAN prefix, to which you can add a level 3 TAN prefix.
